- Consumer Electronics– These are sophisticated and highly advanced machines that can perform complex functions. Consumer Appliances are also called brown goods. Devices used for communication and entertainment are also included in this category. TV sets, digital cameras, camcorders, still cameras, video game consoles, computers, telephones, VCR, CD, and DVD players, home cinemas, etc. come under the category of consumer appliances.
